In a shocking incident, three accused who were being taken for appearance at the Railway Court in Jhansi escaped from police custody. The incident, captured on nearby CCTV cameras, has rapidly spread across social media platforms, shedding light on the daring getaway. In the video footage, the accused are seen within a police van stationed outside the court premises,  left unguarded. Seizing the opportunity, the accused opened the van's door and escaped.

The viral video depicts the trio escaping from the police van and running on the road, their swift flight caught in vivid detail by the CCTV footage. Reports suggest that at the time of the incident, seven accused persons were inside the van, but only three managed to escape from the police custody.

This audacious incident took place in broad daylight at approximately 1:40 PM on Tuesday, September 19. A group of eleven police officers had been entrusted with the task of transporting the seven prisoners to the Railway Court in Jhansi. The accused who fled from the police custody were in jail over accusation of theft of mobile phones at railway station. The accused have been identified as Brijendra (27), Shailendra (20) and Gyanprasad (23). They were all jailed for stealing mobile phones and other valuables on railway stations.

The prisoners who escaped are still on the run and no one has been caught yet. The police says that all the accused will be arrested soon. In response to the incident, a case has been registered, resulting in the suspension of eight police officers, including three sub-inspectors, due to negligence during the execution of their duties.

Further investigations are underway, with a committee established to probe the incident, and additional teams mobilized to track down the escaped individuals and return them to police custody.
